Ingredients
Trees:
- 175g butter
- 175g white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 50ml milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 225g self rising flour
- 1/2 tsp Baking powder + 1/2 tsp salt
- Green colouring dye
Loaf:
- 175g butter
- 175g white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 50ml milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 225g self rising flour
- 1/2 tsp Baking powder + 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp Mavella Superfoods Brain Boost
- 2 tbsp icing sugar for sprinkling
Method:
Trees:
- Preheat oven to 180c. Prepare a loaf pan with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
- In a medium bowl cream the butter and sugar using an electric mixer, beat for 3 min. Add the eggs one at a time and continue to mix until fluffy.
- Slowly add 1/3 of the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, then alternate with the milk and rest of the flour until well combined. Fold in the green colouring dye.
- Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan, bake for 30 min. Allow to cool completely.
- When ready, slice the whole loaf and cut the centre of each slice into trees.
Loaf:
- In a small bowl, combine flour, b.powder and salt. Mix Mavella Superfoods Brain Boost into the milk and set aside.
- Cream the butter using an electric mixer and beat for 3 min. Add the eggs one at a time and continue to mix until fluffy.
- Slowly add 1/3 of the flour to the bowl, then alternate with the milk and rest of the flour until well combined.
- Prepare the loaf pan again with parchment paper (or grease), spoon a thin layer of the bater across the bottom, then place the trees on top.
- Add the rest of the batter over the trees until covered. Bake at 180c for 10 min, then turn the heat down to 150c and bake for 45 min.
- Let cool completely and sprinkle with icing sugar.
